\"top<\/a>Hello all! We wanted to take a quick moment to give a shout out to all you amazing teachers. It has been so awesome to witness the thoughtful, engaging, and dynamic way in which our students are engaged in learning. We have seen this documented in various ways across a myriad of platforms. One platform we have seen used in dynamic and purposeful ways is Twitter. Twitter has allowed learning to be shared and celebrated by all stakeholders. In addition it has allowed conversations to be had in many different spaces between many different people. We have seen Ed Authors (Tanny McGregor\/Stephanie Harvey) comment and retweet the work teachers are doing. Our students have even begun dialogue with children’s book authors too!<\/p>\n

Speaking of checking stuff out online\u2026 we decided that a good way to help share some of the awesome learning happening at NIST would be to use the common hashtag #NISTis<\/strong>.<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

This way someone can search for this hashtag, or use a tool like Tagboard<\/a> to search across platforms, and get a small glimpse of what\u2019s happening across the school. This is also a great way for you to see the awesomeness that\u2019s happening in other areas of the school that you may be unaware of. \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Philip came up with this really cool hashtag, \u201c#NISTis<\/strong>\u201d! This hashtag is so neat because it can be used a couple different ways. It can be used in a sentence like \u201c#NISTis collaboration\u201d such as when\u00a0documenting students or teachers collaborating together. <\/span>For example, a moment captured in a PE lesson can be tweeted and discussed back in the classroom within minutes, thus connecting learning across the school. This communication is easy and timely making it a simple way to connect learning moments with a rapid turn around. It becomes a two conversation rather simply a one way broadcast.<\/span> Or it can simply be used at the end of a tweet as a way to include the tweet in the greater mosaic of results found when searching this hashtag. In this sense it could mean NIST (i)nternational (s)chool. Pretty cool right!

The goal of a common hashtag is to allow someone a glimpse into some of the cool stuff happening in all areas of the school, not just technology. This can be a great way to celebrate, share, and connect with others around the inspiring work you and your students are doing everyday.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
