{"id":15539,"date":"2016-11-05T09:28:04","date_gmt":"2016-11-05T09:28:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.nist.ac.th\/technology\/?post_type=ht_kb&#038;p=15539"},"modified":"2020-01-29T00:51:12","modified_gmt":"2020-01-29T00:51:12","slug":"email","status":"publish","type":"ht_kb","link":"https:\/\/blogs.nist.ac.th\/technology\/knowledge-base\/email\/","title":{"rendered":"Emailing Parent &#038; Student Groups"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">There are three\u00a0different ways for you to find\/use parent emails in your email program here at NIST.<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>To email all parents or all students in a class,\u00a0there is a button on each of your classes in Veracross to <em>Email Parents<\/em>.\n<ul>\n<li>Hover over the word <em>Contact<\/em> next to the class you want<\/li>\n<li>Two links will appear called <em>Email Parents<\/em> and <em>Email Students<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>Clicking on either will result in a new email being opened in your email client with the address in the <em>To:<\/em> field. <strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">You should leave the address in the To: field.<\/span><\/strong> <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Do not put the address in the BCC: field. The email will be rejected. This group address can NOT be used inside Google Drive to share a file.\u00a0<strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">It can be used to copy a link and send via email to a group.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li>Type your email,\u00a0subject, etc.\u00a0and press <em>Send<\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>To share a document\u00a0to students by class, you can use Google groups by typing the classID from Veracross (e.g. 03-ART.3AB or 10-MAT-EX.02) into the Sharing panel of a document or folder. <em>(The members of\u00a0these groups are automagically maintained each year.)<\/em><\/li>\n<li>To email one student or parents of one student, look on the\u00a0student\u00a0profile pop-up in Veracross. There is a button to email either parent or to email both parents.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Emailing Parents by Year Level (Coordinators Only)<\/h3>\n<div>\n<p class=\"ms-rteElement-P\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">    \t\t<div class=\"hts-messages hts-messages--alert  hts-messages--withtitle hts-messages--withicon \"   >\r\n    \t\t\t<span class=\"hts-messages__title\">Restrictions apply when emailing very large groups<\/span>    \t\t\t    \t\t\t\t<p>\r\n    \t\t\t\t\tThe groups below are restricted to use by school offices, counselling, and year level coordinators.
