Great for distributing copies of files to students if you are not using Google Classroom.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/media.giphy.com\/media\/26xBwu7KGAvdV1UqI\/source.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"1010\" height=\"440\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Use Google Drive Offline<\/h2>\n<p>If you know that you will be offline yet want to work on a Google Drive doc (or another type of file), you can do so by enabling offline Google Drive and opening the file at least once before you go offline. (i.e. In this case, use <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/drive\/answer\/2375083?hl=en\"><b>OPTION 2: &#8220;Sync only these folders.&#8221;<\/b><\/a><b>)<\/b><\/li>\n<li>There are also Google Drive apps for Android and iOS which are great for accessing your files while on the go. Better as it only downloads the file to your mobile device when you access a file so it conserves space on your device.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Google Drive - Google Drive Application\" width=\"643\" height=\"482\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/eW2C4UjUh5Y?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h2>Managing Versions of Google Drive Documents<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>When you upload a new file and its name matches an existing file in the same location, Google Drive will ask if you want to replace the existing (which will appear like one one file) even though you will still have access as the owner to the various versions.<br \/>\n<a href=\"\/technology\/files\/2016\/10\/manage-versions.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-15685\" src=\"\/technology\/files\/2016\/10\/manage-versions.png\" alt=\"manage-versions\" width=\"826\" height=\"501\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.nist.ac.th\/technology\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/manage-versions.png 826w, https:\/\/blogs.nist.ac.th\/technology\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/manage-versions-300x182.png 300w, https:\/\/blogs.nist.ac.th\/technology\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/manage-versions-768x466.png 768w, https:\/\/blogs.nist.ac.th\/technology\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/manage-versions-50x30.png 50w, https:\/\/blogs.nist.ac.th\/technology\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/manage-versions-60x36.png 60w, https:\/\/blogs.nist.ac.th\/technology\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/manage-versions-35x21.png 35w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 826px) 100vw, 826px\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li>If the file\u00a0is not the same name as the existing file, you can replace the existing version by using Manage Versions by right clicking on the existing file then choosing a file from your machine to upload. <strong>This has the benefit of placing a new file in Drive with the same URL as the existing file.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>What If I Want to Share a Folder With a NEW\u00a0Group?<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Pick a good location inside of all of our existing <a href=\"http:\/\/staff.nist.ac.th\/nist-documents\/\">shared folders<\/a>.
