We want to encourage the use of these technologies but also make sure that we have quality content and are engaging\u00a0an audience. If you are looking for help to stream yourself, this<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.nist.ac.th\/technology\/knowledge-base\/how-to-do-live-streaming-to-facebook-or-youtube\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Streaming to\u00a0YouTube or Facebook Guide<\/a>\u00a0will be of help.<\/span><\/p>\n<h1><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Main Guidelines<\/span><\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Streams need to be sent to appropriate channels by event type (see below).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Video quality (audio, shooting angle, composition) needs to be proportional to audience size.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Why record or stream? For those who can\u2019t join, marketing, and archival.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Should I stream or record?<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stream\u00a0when you have\u00a0engaging content from start to finish.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Record when you plan to edit a short video for later.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1>Video Recording Your Class or Event<\/h1>\n<p><strong>Equipment<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You can use a smartphone to record events for editing later, or you can record yourself and\/or your class to analyze your instruction. Either way, the equipment and setup are the same.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">    \t\t<div class=\"hts-messages hts-messages--alert  hts-messages--withtitle hts-messages--withicon \"   >\r\n    \t\t\t<span class=\"hts-messages__title\">Be sure to book the equipment from IT.<\/span>    \t\t\t    \t\t\t\t<p>\r\n    \t\t\t\t\tYou will need a tripod with a smartphone clip as well as a smartphone. Test beforehand. You can reduce the storage needed by setting your video to 720p (see below). This is to avoid backlighting the subject.<\/li>\n<li>Place the tripod high to not be obstructed by students.<\/li>\n<li>Place the tripod to view what you want to be able to analyze later (e.g. If you want to be sure you are moving around the room, be sure the whole room is visible.). Please note that position also impacts audio.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Audio Setup<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The microphone on a smartphone records ALL sounds within a\u00a0sphere of the camera with nearer objects being much louder. This applies to overhead air conditioners, etc.<\/li>\n<li>We recommend putting the tripod at the back corner of the room and that the teacher encourages a quiet classroom and project\u00a0his\/her voice in order to be sure it is\u00a0discernible.\u00a0Check\u00a0the video samples below to see and hear what your recording will look and sound like.<\/li>\n<li>If you are specifically targetting only the teacher&#8217;s voice, then you can contact IT for help setting up a wireless mic.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>The following examples are best with headphones.<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Here is an example of a classroom recording using my iPhone camera:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/RrnDftepQ4A\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/youtu.be\/RrnDftepQ4A&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1568790821760000&amp;usg=AFQjCNEBQm8Zo439XrYYBDkJbCnbiN-zoQ\">https:\/\/youtu.be\/<wbr \/>RrnDftepQ4A<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Here is an example using the DJI Osmo Action camera:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/KVBcxLJzVvI\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/youtu.be\/KVBcxLJzVvI&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1568790821760000&amp;usg=AFQjCNH43Dug3PZtXQS1wWbhTf2kFqcjHg\">https:\/\/youtu.be\/<wbr \/>KVBcxLJzVvI<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><strong>Viewing\/Using the Video<\/strong><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Now that you have a recording, you can watch the video on your smartphone (with headphones).<\/li>\n<li>You can also copy the video to a computer using <a href=\"https:\/\/support.apple.com\/en-us\/HT203106\">AirDrop<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><\/div>\n<h1><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Event Types \/ Level of Streaming<\/span><\/h1>\n<h2>Events not to be streamed<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We should not stream everything. Here are some things that the school will not stream.\u00a0<\/span>(Birthday parties, class events, School dances, School section assemblies,\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Parent coffee mornings,\u00a0<\/span>Student presentations for assessments (TOK presentations, dances in PE, etc.), Board meetings, external events hosted here (conferences, NBA, Learning2), Whole School Staff meetings, sports games, Awards banquets, and Drama Productions (due to copyright).<\/p>\n<h2>Live feed to another place in school<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of the types of streaming we can do is to send the feed to another campus location when the venue is too small for the audience. This works for swimming events, sports banquets, or very popular guest speakers.)<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Small Events<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Anyone in the school can choose to stream or record.\u00a0Be sure to let the Head of Section know what will be streamed.\u00a0This\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.nist.ac.th\/technology\/knowledge-base\/how-to-do-live-streaming-to-facebook-or-youtube\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Streaming to\u00a0YouTube or Facebook Guide<\/a><\/span>\u00a0is for\u00a0users to film and live stream themselves. IT can offer assistance if needed. This is for single-class guest speaker events, student presentations, etc.<\/p>\n<h2>Large School Events<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Large events need to be requested by School Offices or Community Relations or Communications Offices.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Team of 3-4 to video (1 switching\/monitor, 2-3 cameras)<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Graduation Y13, Y11, Y6 &#8211; ceremony, speeches.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Y6 exhibition &#8211; ceremony, but not all the exhibition day and all student projects,\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Major events that come up (GGWC), but not events such as Starry Nights.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Webinars<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>You can also host a Zoom meeting for up to 300 participants or a webinar for up to 1000 attendees.
