You can also choose to record the meeting&#8217;s captions. Recordings are saved to the organizer\u2019s Meet Recordings folder in My Drive. An email with the recording link is sent to the meeting organizer and the person who started the recording. The link is added to the Calendar event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other windows or notifications are not included in the recording. Pinning a participant won\u2019t affect who is shown in the recording.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These people get notified when a recording starts or stops, but can\u2019t control the recording:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>People outside of your organization<\/li><li>Mobile app users<\/li><li>People who dial in using a phone<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Important:<\/strong>&nbsp;When meetings are recorded the chat conversation log is also saved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Which part of a Meet chat is recorded?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Chats are recorded for the entire duration of the recorded video.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Where is a Meet chat saved?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Chats are saved as an .SBV file in the meeting organizer&#8217;s Drive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How do I play Meet chat recordings?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You can play Meet chat recordings on media players. When recordings play on a media player like VLC Media Player, chat contents display as subtitles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How do I play recorded captions?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you record a meeting, select&nbsp;<strong>Record captions<\/strong>&nbsp;to embed captions in the clip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>If you play the recording in Google Drive via the YouTube player, you can click the Closed Caption button&nbsp;<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/storage.googleapis.com\/support-kms-prod\/uLaMstf9UQK2maaKh0t42MHPgOAu2JI4XuE8\" width=\"18\" height=\"18\" alt=\"Closed caption\">&nbsp;to play captions with the recording.<\/li><li>If you download the recording you can play it and enable subtitles on apps like VLC Media Player or QuickTime Player.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tip:<\/strong>&nbsp;If you record captions, the recording file might be ready before the captions are available if played on Google Drive.
