Google Calendar Gentle Reminders

If your Google Calendar interrupts you by switching away from whatever you were doing and going to the Google Calendar tab, we have the solution.

(Please note: This used to be a Labs feature that graduated to become a full supported feature)

  • Go to Google Chrome and click on 3 spots in top right corner.
  • Click Settings and scroll to bottom of page
  • Click Advanced to reveal more settings
  • In the Privacy and security section, click on Content settings…
  • Click on Notifications section and be sure Ask before sending is turned on
  • Click Add button to add a site to Allow list.
  • Add “calendar.google.com:443” in the field and Add in the drop-down
  • Now, your notifications should look like this when you go to Calendar settings. (If not, tick both boxes)
    notifications3

Now your Google Calendar will only show a pop-up reminder.
