There are two ways to set up a second device (factor) for authentication to Google. A or B
A. Phone number
OR.
B. Authenticator app. We recommend Authenticator as long as you use a device that will be always with you such as your mobile phone. Many other sites allow you to use Google Authenticator.
A. How to turn on 2-Step Authentication for your Google Account.
- Once you login to Gmail, The system will bring you to the 2 step verification Enroll page. Click the “Enroll” button.
- Login to your account.
- Put your mobile phone number. The system will send you a text message to your mobile phone.
- Put the digital code from the mobile phone and click next
- Press the “Turn on” button to activate 2 Step verification for your account.
- Once the process is completed you will see this page.
B. How to install Google Authenticator App on mobile devices.
- In your Gmail, Click on your profile click and select “Manage your Google account”
- Click at “Security“
- 2-Step Verification
- Choose setup Authenticator app
- Select your Mobile phone’s OS
- (On your mobile phone) Download the “Authenticator” app to your mobile device.
- Android – Download in Playstore
- Apple – Download in Appstore
- Open the Authenticator app on your mobile device and create a new profile by scanning a barcode on your screen (not the one below).
- Enter the 6-digit code you see in the app.
- Done.
