Google Multi-factor Authentication

There are two ways to set up a second device (factor) for authentication to Google. A or B

A. Phone number

OR.

B. Authenticator app. We recommend Authenticator as long as you use a device that will be always with you such as your mobile phone. Many other sites allow you to use Google Authenticator.

A. How to turn on 2-Step Authentication for your Google Account.

  1. Once you login to Gmail, The system will bring you to the 2 step verification Enroll page. Click the “Enroll” button.
  2. Login to your account.
  3. Put your mobile phone number. The system will send you a text message to your mobile phone.
  4. Put the digital code from the mobile phone and click next

  5. Press the “Turn on” button to activate 2 Step verification for your account.
  6. Once the process is completed you will see this page.

B. How to install Google Authenticator App on mobile devices.

  1. In your Gmail, Click on your profile click and select “Manage your Google account
  2. Click at “Security
  3. 2-Step Verification
  4. Choose setup Authenticator app
  5. Select your Mobile phone’s OS
  6. (On your mobile phone) Download the “Authenticator” app to your mobile device.
    • Android – Download in Playstore
    • Apple – Download in Appstore
  7. Open the Authenticator app on your mobile device and create a new profile by scanning a barcode on your screen (not the one below).
  8. Enter the 6-digit code you see in the app.
  9. Done.

How to use Google Authenticator

  1. If your mobile phone does not have the Internet to receive Google prompt, click “Try another way”
  2. Choose “Get a one-time security code”
  3. Open “Authentication” app on mobile to see the one-time password
  4. Enter six-digit number
