Gmail on Mobile Devices

Adding the Gmail App on Mobile Devices

We strongly recommend using Google’s own Gmail application on all iOS or Android devices instead of your phone’s own mail application. However, note that any Veracross Composer emails that you receive will NOT be responsive in these apps (meaning the content will not adjust to fit your screen). If you prefer ease of reading over other functionality, using your phone’s mail application may be preferable.

Setting Up Gmail Using Your Mobile Device’s App

This is not recommended, but you may prefer to use the apps you already know and love.

Android

To begin using G Suite on your Android device, complete the following steps:

  1. Go to your device’s account settings.
  2. Add your G Suite account and follow the instructions from there. After you finish, you should see a message that says “Account sign-in successful.”
  3. Choose which products you want to synchronize to your device.

Now you can use G Suite from your Android device. If you need more help, see Set up your Android for G Suite.

iOS

To begin using G Suite on your iOS device, you set up Google Sync by performing the following steps:

  1. Go to your device’s account settings.
  2. Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
  3. Tap Add Account.
  4. Tap Google.
  5. Add your G Suite account and follow the instructions from there.
  6. Choose which products you want to synchronize to your device.

Or this video will show you how to add your Google account to iOS devices (e.g., iPhone, iPad) to receive mail and calendar notifications.
