Clipy

As teachers we tend to do a lot of cutting and pasting, but typically you can only paste the most recent content that you copied. Clipy is an app that gives you access to your computer’s clip board and all of the content you have copied. This means that you can copy multiple items and then individually select what to paste. This will save you a lot of time you’d normally spend switching back and forth between documents.

To use Clipy affectively, simply copy content, put your cursor where you’d like to paste, and press SHIFT+COMMAND+V. This will give you the menu of items that you can click and paste in.

NOTE: This app is not in the App Store. You will need to download and install it from their website. Please check your security settings as noted below to install:

1) Download from the website
2) Open the downloaded .dmg file
3) Drag the clipy app to the Applications directory
4) Open settings and go to Security and Privacy
5) On the privacy tab select accessibility and tick clipy
*You’ll likely have to click on the lock icon in the bottom left first and enter your password to be able to change this. Once it’s ticked, you can re-lock the settings.
