Spring cleaning with Disk Inventory X: It is that time of year again when teachers begin winding down and organizing their materials. A great little app to help in organizing and managing the files on your computer hard drive is Disk Inventory X (you can also download it here at MacUpdate) As the description states “Disk Inventory X is a disk usage utility for Mac OS X. It shows the sizes of files and folders in a special graphical way called “treemaps”.” See the image below for an example.
What makes this app so useful is that if you click on the coloured graphic, you can find out exactly what files are taking up so much space. Control click on any file and you can move it to the trash.
